전등사 템플스테이 체험 후기 Templestay in Jeondeungsa

The famous Chinese philosopher Confucius(孔子) said, 30 is the age of  "Érlì"(而立)

It means , 30 is the age can make his own final goal and do it himself

Mark Elliot Zuckerberg made Facebook and Bill gates founded Microsofts as their age was under 30

some people like them already make their foundation. they knew what they want.

I'm over 30, but I still don't know what I want exactly. and what I haved to do for myself. I always confused and doubted myself

this templestay in Jeondeungsa was the travel to to inside myself. I've hoped it be helpful to me

   Each of temple has different schedule. if you want to experience the templestay, you have to visit the web site of the temple you want to stay

First day , I reached the temple in 1:00 PM . Check in my room and received new sheet cover and cloth. 

(have to change the pillow and sheet cover by myself)

the Room was clean but small. no mattress, little uncomfortable.  two person use one room. 

because the room with toilet is little expensive. My room was without toilet. I can use public baths. it is not bad

The dog's name is 청백. he is special dog trained to keep the cultural heritage.

during the daytime, he is sitting in front of my room. night time he protect the temple. he is so cute.

Orientation time before dinner time

we can learned the temple etiquette : ▲ how to kneel and bow before the Buddha. ▲ Walk quietly and polite ▲ make hand together - it means the mind make one and keep concentrate

The Interpreter is always ready to foreigners in Jeondeungsa. he supported the whole time for two days. so you do not have to worry about the language.

The time of Evening ceremony after dinner

Monk beat a drum and hit the bell every day for animal. because the animals can't read and understand the buddha's bible, the monks do it for animals. we have chance to hit the bell and feel the vibration of the bell in my hand. it is very special experience.

after dinner, we have time to pray. 

I studied buddhism when I was high  school student. buddihsm ceremony is familiar to me, but it was more then 10 years ago when I was student, so I forgot most of pray scriptures. I need to cheat the paper :)

Seon Meditation time :

the time to concentrate myself. I have to bent my legs and sat 30~40 minuets. 

Monk said try to keep mind in right now. you can know it is hard and difficult. because we always worry about what might have happened or regret past things that had happened but we can't change anymore

All we can do is just know right now, and keep my mind now. don't let our mind go past time or future time.

it is easy to say, but difficult to do

Making prayer beads , it was the most fun time.

one bow down , one pierce bead. 25 bows need to make prayer beads. it makes my prayer beads something special.. as like it makes my dreams come true..

All of the schedule for the first time was over. take the shower and we have to sleep before 10 PM . tomorrow schedule would be started 4:00 AM

The temple was decorated with beautiful light. I can see it on the way to my room. it is not general case.

it is lighted only for two weeks to celebrate the day - Buddha's birth. I was very lucky

next day , I waked up 4:00 am. I've worried I couldn't wake up, but I could do it :)

after morning ceremony, did the 108 prostrations.

108 is the special number. it means 108 kinds of troubles, we are suffered whole life.

It's time to think and  reflection that wrong, as bow 108 times

2nd day breakfast was special.

Monks eat very clear , thier bowls is not required wash. 

you can't believe how to do that. we learned  2nd day mornign , ate like Monks.

After breakfast , we had to walk for an hour with Monk. and had a tea time.

It was short of time, and too many people. I couldn't talk with him enough.

but now I know it is not important. my problem is depend on me. no one can give solution to me even though as a monk

stay two days in the temple was very special experience. I want to recommend it to my friends
